oh baby

Well hello lovely souls! Once again, it’s been way too long between posts. I miss hanging out here a great deal but time just seems to be on warp speed these last few years. It’s about to be May for crying out loud! May!

Although we have been busy. Over the past few months we’ve moved house, Coco started high school and I’ve set up a small studio.

All pretty exciting really. Especially the studio part; I LOVE natural light, and know it will always be my thing, but I’m also keen to explore the creative options that studio lights give you.

More on all that later, but for now I just wanted to say…  if you’re after a Mother’s Day prezzie, I’m offering special gift vouchers for portrait photo shoots. As much as I love my commercial work, I still delight in capturing loved ones for people. Warms the heart like nothing else really.

If you’re interested, please contact me for details: my name is Louise (in case you’ve forgotten – it’s been a while!) and my email is 52suburbs@gmail.com

I’ll leave you with a few pics of a recent portrait session: four week old Laughlan and his parents, Helana and Cam. (Shot in their own home, by the way, not the studio.) Oh, those tiny toes.

  1. Jodie says:

Awwwww!! Gorgeous! There’s something so special about a newborn photo shoot. It’s so important to capture those first few precious weeks because they grow and change so quickly. (And new parents are often too tired to take it all in at the time!)
Lovely to hear from you Louise!

    • Louise says:

Oh, thanks Jodie! I really think it’s a privilege to be invited into people’s lives when they’ve just expanded their family. And the really new bubs are so interesting – there’s something quite alien (in a good way!) about them. Like they’re not quite in this world yet. I find them fascinating.

  2. claire lloyd says:

these are really beautiful pics Louise.
I especially like the black and white ones. Bravo on your studio. I would love a little studio here in Greece you’ve inspired me to get on with it.

    • Louise says:

I’d love a little studio in Greece too! Conjures up a wonderful image. Glad you enjoyed the pics, thanks Claire.

  3. Cate says:

What beautiful photos Louise!! so intimate, raw and natural. You captured people and moments so well.

    • Louise says:

Thank you Cate. It was a very intimate environment – especially when I suggested Cam take his shirt off! He obliged and I think the pics of him bare chested with his son are stronger for it.

  4. Liz Needle says:

Stunningly beautiful photos. You have a wonderful eye for capturing the moment.

  5. kayley says:

Hi Louise, is your exhibition showing anywhere else in the future? I’d love to share with our members

    Kayley

    • Louise says:

There are plans by the Department to tour it around regional NSW but I don’t know the details. Let me try and find out Kayley.
